Dental Hygienist
We are seeking a part-time or full-time Dental Hygienist to join our team. HealthHUB is a non-profit, mobile program committed to increasing access to quality healthcare for children and adults in the communities in which they live and go to school. This position is based in our well-equipped mobile clinic that moves throughout schools in Orange and Windsor counties. The Dental Hygienist will be responsible for providing care to children aged 1-17 years, as well as adults during school breaks, and communicating with school administrators and parents. The right candidate is strong clinically, efficient, passionate about providing care that matters, and has the ability to work independently as well as collaborate with coworkers. Expectations
Provide quality dental care and associated services using established dental hygiene procedures. Provide oral health and education to patients and their families. Collaborate with other staff in a variety of patient care and administrative duties.
Job Type: part-time or full-time
Pay: $40-$60/hr. based on experience and qualifications
Annual allowance for continuing educational courses relevant to role/responsibilities as an RDH
Schedule: 8-32 hours a week
Primary Accountabilities
Achieve Results
Improve the oral health of patients through the delivery of periodontal therapies and other dental hygiene-related services.
Enhance the efficiency of the clinic by performing expanded duties as allowable by law and as directed by the dentist.
Ensure all patients enjoy a positive experience, and are treated with the care and compassion expected.
Ensure all patient records and related documentation are managed and maintained timely, accurately, and consistent with all HIPAA and related regulations and requirements.
Operational Excellence
Ensure all tasks provided and associated with patient care, patient administrative processes, and related duties comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards, as well as clinic policies and procedures.
Ensure direct patient care is delivered using established dental hygiene procedures.
Relationships
Develop favorable relationships with all patients. Interact positively with patients to provide information and education about oral hygiene, handle and resolve patient concerns with enthusiasm and empathy.
Establish favorable working relationships with all staff and community members associated with clinic operations, including HealthHUB clinicians and administration and school administrators, nurses, and custodians.
Stewardship and Professionalism
Uphold and consistently represent the values and mission of the organization at all times. Represent the organization in a highly professional manner at all times.
Ensure compliance and attention to all corporate policies and procedures.
Complete continuing education as necessary to retain state license.
Dental Hygienist Job Duties
Prepares treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols.
Prepares patient for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, seating, and draping patient.
Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.
Maintains instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments.
Selects materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient's oral health.
Completes dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins.
Detects disease by completing oral cancer screening, feeling and visually examining gums; takes digital radiographs as prescribed.
Arrests dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity- preventing agents.
Educates patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions; providing reminders of time of next dental hygiene visit.
Documents dental hygiene services by charting in patient records; provides written report to parent/guardian.
Advises further care with dentist as needed, and collaborates with supervising dentist to arrange appointments and referrals.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Operates under general supervision of licensed dentist.
Maintains current Dental Hygienist licensure in Vermont.
Maintains patient confidentiality according to HIPAA and FERPA laws.
Administrative Duties:
Ensures that new enrollment and insurance information is completed by parents/guardians at the beginning of each school year.
Notifies custodians in advance of site visit and confirms with school nurse; arranges with hauler to transport van to site.
Confirms patient information and parental/guardian permission before each patient visit.
Confirms insurance eligibility and information before each patient visit. Prepares and completes billing submissions.
Submits mileage reimbursement sheets quarterly.
Qualifications:
Education: High school graduate or equivalency, plus successful completion of accredited dental hygienist program.
Licensure with the Vermont Board of Dental Examiners.
Experience as a Public Health Hygienist, or eligible.
Other: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Certification to administer local anesthesia is preferred.

Dental Assistant
We are seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to join our team. Dental assisting experience is preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate. HealthHUB is a non-profit, mobile program committed to increasing access to quality healthcare for children and adults in the communities in which they live and go to school. The Dental Assistant will be responsible for providing support to dentists and dental hygienists, preparing patients for dental procedures, sterilizing instruments, assisting with dental care, maintaining patient records, checking patients in and out, and making patient calls. The right candidate is friendly and efficient, with a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain dental instruments, materials and equipment according to infection
control and prevention standards.
Prepare treatment rooms for patients by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols.
Collect and record patient health histories (dental and medical).
Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment.
Take radiographs.
Assist dentist chair-side by organizing and preparing instruments for dentist’s use and
assisting as needed during procedures.
Advise patients in oral hygiene and dental care.
Perform office duties as requested.
Provide service in a manner that is appropriate for the patient’s age; demonstrate knowledge
and skills necessary to meet the patient’s physical, psychosocial, educational and safety
needs.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and
regulations.
Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Read, write, and maintain patient records and related administrative documentation.
Manage office inventory.
Adhere to all OSHA, CDC, and infection control policies and procedures
Maintain knowledge of dentistry procedures, clinic infection control procedures, cleaning and
sterilization of instruments, tray setup and materials.
Qualifications:
Education: High school graduate or equivalency
Completion of accredited courses in dental assisting (preferred)
Certification: Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) preferred, or Traditional Dental Assistant (TDA)
with radiology endorsement, or eligible to trained
Registration with the Vermont Board of Dental Examiners or eligible to be registered
1 year of Dental Assisting experience preferred
Other: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Experience with electronic dental records is a plus.
